Painting has been for a long time the main focus of my work , although I have also been influenced and done some animation work. I have been shifting and moving across the two genres, been occupied with various aspects of time: the slowness of painting and the linear/nonlinear timeframe of animation. The two genres have complimented each other to push my work into my own direction.

A lot of my work explores various aspects around memory, memory gaps and present understanding of previous and past events. I am intrigued by memory, how certain episodes and events fade, how we relive moments and how we supress them

I work through a process of making a lot of drawings quickly as a starting point of my work. I cut the drawings up, recompose them, cut them up again and back together as a new picture. This method of editing and cropping allow the context to slip and gives new light to original index.

I also take great pleasure in borrowing context and extracts from different sources as phrases from books, films, childhood memories and conversations. This collection can sometimes be a starting point of a drawing or become a title.

I want the viewer to search for what is hinted at in my work, and from there expand their own imagination, move backwards and forwards through their own experiences, associations, time and memory
